How AI Helps Us Put Our Best Work Out Into the World
Creating a brand new post is hard. Honestly, creating any kind of new content is hard. That’s been a struggle for me, and I suspect it’s a struggle for a lot of other people too.
I want to share two examples of how AI has helped me get past that and put out a better version of my work.
Example 1: Turning Code Into Demo Videos
A few months ago, we were trying to create demo videos by recording the screen. The problem: I’ve always struggled with typing. I’m not a trained typist, I type badly, and I’m very self‑conscious about it.
The idea was simple: for the demo video, have someone who types better do the actual typing on screen. But what we ended up building was more interesting: a system where, just from reading the code, we could generate the video automatically. The “typing” that appears on the screen is simulated, and my bad typing never shows up.
That was one of the first times I was really impressed by how AI could help you look better and put the best version of yourself out into the world.
Example 2: Making My Thoughts More Eloquent
That same idea is what this site is all about.
I’m not always the most eloquent person. My thoughts can be clear in my head but messy when I speak or write. AI helps me take that raw train of thought and turn it into something much better written than I could manage on my own.
In my opinion, this is exactly how AI should be used: to raise the quality of our output as humans, not by replacing us, but by helping us express our ideas in their best possible form.
